AMSE Wins Contract for Ireland's First Health Park

AMSE has secured the structural steelwork contract for Wellwood Health Park in Tullamore, Co Offaly.

The pioneering scheme by John Flanagan Developments is the first development of its kind in Ireland with a concept similar to a business park, but this time in healthcare.

AMSE will fabricate and erect approximately 2500 tonnes of steel for the development which is scheduled to open later in 2008.

The 9.3 hectare site will have a private hospital, convalescent home, nursing home, hospice, primary care centre and crèche, among other facilities.

The healthcare park is expected to be completed and operational by late 2009. This will be the first healthcare park of its kind in Ireland and is expected to create in the region of 1,500 jobs on completion. In November 2007, John Sisk & Sons Limited started work on Phase 1 of the development. .
