AMSE Leads the Way on Health and Safety

AMSE has become the first company of its kind to be awarded Health and Safety Certification OHSAS 18001 by the National Standards Authority of Ireland.

The award was presented to Managing Director Andrew Mannion by the CEO of NSAI Maurice Buckley and Senator Mary O’Rourke at a special event in the Westbury Hotel in Dublin today.

Mr. Buckley commended the AMSE team on leading the way in the structural steel sector,

“This certification recognises the pro-active and preventative approach to Occupational Health and Safety which has been adopted by AMSE. It is a well-deserved achievement for a forward thinking company with a strong commitment to employee safety and satisfaction.”

Also present to receive the award was Head of Production at AMSE, Mark Hayes, who explained the benefits of becoming certified,

“Improving education, awareness and understanding of safety issues amongst our staff enhances worker and client satisfaction, and also increases our operational efficiencies.”

Operations Director Brian Looney described how the award was a one of several key objectives included in the company’s 5-year strategic growth plan,

“Becoming the first structural steel company to achieve this NSAI award represents another significant milestone for AMSE and preserves our dominant position in the sector.

Congratulating AMSE on its achievement, Senator Mary O’Rourke said

“AMSE has made an immense contribution to the built environment in Ireland and has once again proven its ability to evolve in order to maintain a competitive edge in the market. I wish AMSE continued success with its ongoing development plan.”
